Trump attacks the media for reporting on intelligence assessment of Iran strikes

President Donald Trump is harshly criticizing CNN and The New York Times for reporting on an initial defense assessment of the U.S. bombing of Iran nuclear sites. That assessment calls into question Trump's view that the attack resulted in “total obliteration” of Iran's nuclear ambitions. Trump suggested a CNN reporter should be fired and thrown out “like a dog.” He and his supporters also questioned the patriotism of the outlets, suggesting they were trying to demean the work of U.S. pilots. Both news organizations strongly pushed back against the president, with The Times saying Trump's own initial criticism was “fake news.”
