Posted

OKEECHOBEE -- On July 19, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers responded to a single-vessel incident in Okeechobee County.

Preliminary information indicates a pontoon vessel carrying two adults was traveling on the Kissimmee River when the passenger fell overboard. The vessel's operator was unable to locate the passenger and contacted first responders for assistance.

FWC officers, along with the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene and recovered Judy Riordan, 77, of Okeechobee, deceased from the water.

This is an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.  A full report will be available by public records request once it is complete.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission extends its deepest condolences to Judy Riordan's family and loved ones during this difficult time.
