MOORE HAVEN — A Glades County Public Safety news release stated that on April 10, Glades County fire crews and mutual aid responders were on scene at the Old Castle Lawn and Garden, 30075 U.S. 27 in Moore Haven. The fire started in one of the brush piles located at the back of the complex and spread to multiple piles of debris. Winds conditions caused the fire to jump a fire line and continue to catch new piles on fire. At this time, the fires are contained and firefighters along with Old Castle staff stayed throughout the night to monitor conditions.
Responded: Glades County Central District Volunteer Fire Department, East District Volunteer Fire Department, West District Volunteer Fire Department, Glades County Sheriff’s Department, EMS Medic One, and Glades County Emergency Management.
Mutual Aid Responded: Clewiston Fire Department, LaBelle Volunteer Fire Department, Pioneer Volunteer Fire Department, Montura Volunteer Fire Department, Florida Forest Service ( brought in their plow equipment), and Florida Highway Patrol.
