An Okeechobee man died in a single vehicle crash on County Road 721 Sunday, June 2, at 5:11 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was southbound on County Road 721, south of State Road 70, approaching the Glades County line at a high rate of speed when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.
The SUV traveled off the roadway, entered the grass shoulder and collided with a fence and a tree.
The driver, a 26-year-old Okeechobee man, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
