CLEWISTON — The people of U.S. Sugar are justifiably proud of who we are and what we do — day in and day out — in our rural farming communities of the Glades.
Feeding American families. Providing good jobs. Clean water. Clean air. Stewards of the land. Taking care of our neighbors.
Our community lives these values and accomplishments daily. It’s who we are.
All too frequently, those in coastal communities to our east and west know little of us or only hear the all-too-frequent attacks, sound bites and misinformation spread by anti-farming interests.
U.S. Sugar has long promoted a public education campaign to provide accurate information about the people of the Everglades Agricultural Area. Over the years, we’ve provided bus tours of our farming operations and run television and newspaper ads in local publications. We launched a digital information campaign aimed at residents of surrounding communities. All of these efforts have produced positive results.
Now, we’re kicking it up a notch and going big with an additional step to reach a previously untapped group — the thousands of people driving through our communities daily, whether they’re our neighbors who commute regularly or merely passing through on their north-south and east-west journeys.
U.S. Sugar recently put up several billboards located across the Glades communities. These outdoor boards contain similar messages to those communicated in print and social media videos over the last several years.
As residents and tourists drive through one of the most productive farming regions in the nation, they now will see strong, pro-farming messages.
We proudly display these messages: American farmers growing food to feed American families. Providing good American jobs. Protecting the environment. Being strong, vital parts of our community. Helping our neighbors.
Look for these billboards on the main streets of our rural communities, also known as U.S. 27, State Road 80/U.S. 441 in Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay, Clewiston and Moore Haven.
Come grow with us.
