On March 31, at 1:33 p.m., Okeechobee Police Department, Okeechobee County Fire Rescue with the assistance of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 800 block of SE 8th St in Okeechobee to reports of a 4-year-old child with a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Upon arrival the child was determined to be in critical condition and was Life Flighted to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The child just passed away on April 1. The case is open and active.
No other information has been released.
Once this investigation is completed, those findings will be released.
