FORMAL CORRECTION: A turn-key future for Glades County Public Safety

To the Citizens of Glades County,
I am writing to formally correct the timeline published in the article
"A turn-key future for Glades County Public Safety" (April 20, 2026).
The article states that I am calling for a vote on the "Turn-Key"
legislative package in May. This is incorrect. My formal
correspondence and the legislative package filed with the Clerk of
Court explicitly call for the Board of County Commissioners to move
these items to a vote at the April 27th meeting.
With the identified grant deadlines (State Farm Good Neighbor and
Volunteer Florida) opening on May 4th, an April 27th vote is a
mathematical necessity to ensure Glades County can secure these funds.
Waiting until May risks missing these "additive" funding opportunities
that would strengthen our Fire and EMS services without increasing the
local tax burden.
Please update the digital record to reflect that the demand for action
was set for the April 27th session to ensure the public record
accurately reflects the urgency of these public safety deadlines.
