CORRECTION: Accidental shooting information updated

OKEECHOBEE — In the June 22 issue of the Okeechobee News, a story headlined ‘Woman accidentally shot’ contained an error. That article indicated the address of the woman who was shooting at a dog that had just attacked her dog as N.W. 298th Street. That is incorrect. That address should have been N.W. 300th Street.

The actual victim, the woman who was accidentally shot, lives at the N.W. 298th Street address. The two properties are adjacent.

It should also be pointed out that the woman who was accidentally shot with bird shot was standing at the back door of her home when she was struck in the chest, forearm and thumb by bird shot.
