Do YOU know where Kelley is?

OKEECHOBEE — As we get ready to celebrate Mother’s Day with our own families, one Okeechobee mom has been missing for six long years.

Kelley Nicole Sherman was last seen on Mother’s Day in 2020 near 605 N.E. Park Street where Sunshine BBQ and Café is now located. Not only is Kelley missing, but she is considered endangered. Her family is still offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to a conviction and/or to the location of Kelley.

A mom, with two young children, Kelley was known as a family-oriented person. Before her disappearance, she spoke to her father and sisters regularly, and according to her family would never leave town without letting them know where she was going.

Kelley’s dad and cousins live in Okeechobee and have not heard anything from her in the six years she has been gone.

Not only does Kelley always let her family and friends know when she will be out of town, but she was also active on social media, and no one has heard from her in six years, no one at all.

Kelley’s sister Amber said she never dreamed it would be six years of looking for Kelley. “We all miss her so much and hope this is the year we bring her home.”

Detectives have run into problems because those with information are sometimes afraid to give them the information. Sometimes they have warrants themselves and don’t want to talk to the police, because they fear they will be arrested, BUT you can call and give the police the information anonymously.

If you have any information or know her whereabouts, contact Detective Brandi Drapal at 863-763-9784 or Detective Jack Boon at 863-801-1407, about Case #200701009. You may contact Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-8477 and remain anonymous, and you may be entitled to a reward.

Detective Drapal said she has not given up on finding Kelley. “I still actively work the case, following tips and leads as they come in. However, none of these leads have led us any closer to answers. There is no doubt that someone or even multiple people know exactly what happened, and I believe fear keeps them silent.”
