OKEECHOBEE — HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is proud to announce that our Chief Nursing Officer, Dorothy Watson, has been honored with the 2025 Florida Nurses Association (FNA) Southeast Regional Leadership Award for Okeechobee County.
Presented at the FNA Southeast Region’s “Nurse Appreciation Event,” this award recognizes exemplary nurse leaders who have gone above and beyond to serve, support, and inspire nurses across the region. Dorothy was selected not only for her active role in the Florida Nurses Association but also for her unwavering commitment to advancing the nursing profession and uplifting the voices of nurses in every healthcare setting.
“This award is a powerful reflection of Dorothy’s leadership, compassion, and advocacy,” said Brian Melear, CEO of HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital. “Her motto is to always say GREAT, not good—and she lives it every day. Dorothy encourages all of us to raise our standards, lead with purpose, and choose excellence in everything we do.”
The event, themed The Power of Nurses, celebrated the dedication and unity of nurses while fostering professional growth and safety. Dorothy’s recognition stands as a testament to her lasting impact on both our hospital and the broader nursing community.
