Posted

CLEWISTON — The Children’s Advocacy Center proposed an amendment to their contract at the Hendry County Commission meeting held Tuesday, Oct. 13. This amendment increases the annual contract funding amount from $18,750 to $38,000 and establishes a reimbursement rate of $500 per examination.

Hendry County entered into a contract with Children's Advocacy Center of SWFL on Oct. 1, 2009. The contract renews annually unless terminated by either party. The current contract provides funding of up to $18,750 for these services.

The contract allows the Children’s Advocacy Center to provide forensic medical examinations and consultations for children under the age of 18 alleged to have been abused or neglected.

The proposed amendment increases the annual compensation amount from $18,750 to $38,000, an increase of $19,250. It also establishes a reimbursement rate of $500 per examination, with total annual compensation not to exceed $38,000. The reimbursement rate means that the county will reimburse the Children's Advocacy Center at a rate of $500 per examination, not to exceed $38,000 annually.

The board voted and approved the amendment. This is the first amendment made to the contract.
