IRSC accepting applications for advanced placement and part-time nursing programs

Posted

FORT PIERCE — The Indian River State College School (IRSC) of Nursing is pleased to announce the opening of applications for two distinctive nursing programs designed to accommodate diverse healthcare professionals and busy schedules.

The Associate Degree Nursing Bridge Advanced Placement Program is now accepting applications from Licensed Practical Nurses, Paramedics, and Registered Respiratory Therapists. This specialized program offers experienced healthcare professionals an opportunity to advance their careers through a streamlined pathway to becoming a Registered Nurse. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 28, 2025. For information, visit: https://irsc.edu/programs/nursing-as-degree.html.

Additionally, the school is launching a part-time evening/weekend Practical Nursing Program, specifically designed for individuals balancing work and education. This flexible program features evening and weekend classes, making nursing education accessible to those with daytime commitments. The application window for this program closes on Feb. 17, 2025. For information, visit: https://irsc.edu/programs/practical-nursing.html.

“Every student who walks through our doors at Indian River State College brings unique talents and aspirations,” says Dr. Timothy E. Moore, president of IRSC. “Our role is to provide them with the tools, support, and real-world experience they need to succeed. Our nursing facility, with its advanced simulation center and expert faculty, creates an environment where students can build their skills and confidence. When I see our graduates excelling in their careers, it reinforces that our investment in their success is transforming lives and strengthening our Treasure Coast community.”

IRSC’s nursing program stands as a leading force in remarkable achievements and student outcomes, while addressing Florida’s nursing shortage. The program operates from a cutting-edge 50,000-square-foot facility at the Pruitt Campus in Port St. Lucie, featuring state-of-the-art simulation environments that replicate real hospital settings, including emergency, intensive care, and specialized units. The program’s excellence is demonstrated by its exceptional NCLEX pass rates – 96.8% for RN candidates and 100% for PN candidates, significantly exceeding national averages.

“We understand the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and aspiring nurses,” says Dr. Patricia Gagliano. “These programs reflect our commitment to providing accessible, high-quality nursing education that accommodates various lifestyles and career paths.”
