LaBelle officials present as new bills signed into law

FORT MYERS BEACH  -- LaBelle Commissioner Hugo Vargas  recently received an invite by the Governor's Regional Director, Cherie Denham, to the Governor's press conference on Fort Myers Beach on Dec. 16. Governor DeSantis was there to sign the last two bills of the 2022 year into law. One was for property insurance (SB2-A) and the other was for Disaster Relief (SB4-A).

Vargas had front row seating and the governor actually gave him a marker he used to sign the property insurance bill into law.

Vargas was able to invite LaBelle Mayor Julie Wilkins, City Commissioner Jackie Ratica and LDRC Director Kelly Boone to attend and they all had a great time.

They toured the strip on Fort Myers Beach after the press conference and it is still in very bad shape so the relief funds  are very much appreciated.
