MOORE HAVEN — Moore Haven junior Zaylie Green has committed to join the basketball program at Minnesota North College after she graduates and to continue her education there.
Green is the first girl in Moore Haven Lady Terrier basketball history to commit to a collegiate basketball program and is set to start in 2026 as a forward for their team.
“Congratulations to Zaylie Green for verbally committing to play basketball at Minnesota North College under Head Coach Ryan Zyla,” said Moore Haven coach Jeff Gonzales. “We are beyond proud and excited for her! Terrier Pride!”
Green and the Lady Terrier varsity basketball team is coming off their best season since 2018. Moore Haven finished 15-4 this season. Gonzales credits his assistant coach Emanuel Hendrix for his help in getting the basketball program at Moore Haven on the right track. Hendrix is also the head coach for the Terriers’ football team.
Moore Haven advanced to the district championship game this year, following a big win over Pahokee in the district semifinal.
