Man accused of sending threatening letters from jail

Posted

OKEECHOBEE - After his arrest in April of 2020 for allegedly breaking into a former girlfriend’s home and causing damage to her belongings, Gino Ramos was under a no contact order. However, on Jan. 29, Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputy Noah Wenrick was dispatched to the state attorney’s office in reference to a complaint that Ramos was sending threatening letters to the victim of the April crime.

When he arrived, the woman told him she has been receiving letters through the mail from Ramos, who is confined to the Okeechobee County Jail. She said she did not want to receive mail from him or have any contact from him at all. She also said she felt the letters were threatening.

Ramos was charged with violating a no contact order and tampering with a victim. He is being held without bond.
