The following individuals were arrested on felony or driving under the influence (DUI) charges by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the Okeechobee City Police Department (OCPD), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Department of Corrections (DOC), Criminal Action Team (CAT) or the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force (ONTF).
• Keenan Jones, 19, Osprey Road Northeast, was arrested on August 24, by OCSO Deputy I. Jean and charged with possession of marijuana resin and DUI. Bond was set at $3,500.
• Terence Byrd, 56, Northeast 13th Avenue, was arrested on August 27, by OCSO Deputy M. Esquivel and charged with 18 counts of violation of pre-trial release condition for domestic violence and intimidating/threatening a witness/victim/informant. Bond was set at $32,000.
• Sherman Bryant, 44, Northeast 15th Street, was arrested on August 28, by OCSO Deputy T. Addington and charged with possession of MDMA and possession of a weapon/ammo by a convicted felon. Bryant was also charged with a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest without violence. Bond was set at $22,000.
• Lawrence Owens, 53, Plantation, was arrested on August 28, by OCSO and charged with DUI. Bond was set at $1500.
• Billy Herrin, 45, Sunshine Avenue, was arrested on August 29, by OCSO Corporal Richard Varnadore and charged with possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence. Bond was set at $10,000.
• Frank Zelenka, 78, Highway 441 Southeast, was arrested on August 29, by OCSO and charged with DUI. Bond was set at $1500.
• Jose Serrano, 40, Northwest 30th Avenue, was arrested on August 30, by OCSO Deputy Ashely Rojas and charged with driving while license suspended (habitual offender). Bond was set at $2,500.
• Andrea Chavez, 23, Northeast 11th Court, was arrested on August 30 by OCSO and charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon without intent to kill and battery. Bond was set at $8,000.
• Jose Romero Jr., 34, Southeast Sixth Street, was arrested on August 31, by OCSO Deputy Sheriff J. Fairtrace and charged with aggravated battery. Bond was set at $7,500.
• Joel Alaniz Jr., 20, Northwest 13th Street, was arrested on September 2, by OCPD Officer Makayla Petit-Homme and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injury. Alaniz was also charged with a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident with damage to property, a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest without violence, and a misdemeanor charge of no motor vehicle registration. Bond was set at $4,250.
• Christopher Lamb, 49, Southeast 57th Drive, was arrested on September 2, by FWC Officer Dillan Hudson destroying/harvesting palmetto berries without a permit and use of false/forged/altered palmetto berry harvest permit. Lamb was also charged with a misdemeanor charge of harvesting an endangered plant without a permit and a misdemeanor charge of no motor vehicle registration. Bond was set at $5,300.
• Meghann Jones, 42, Southeast 64th Avenue, was arrested on September 3, by OCSO Deputy Greseth and charged with tampering with evidence, grand theft of more than $5,000 but less than $10,000, and fraud/obtain property under $20,000. Bond was set at $15,000.
• Shane Harper, 39, Highway 441 Southeast, was arrested on September 4, by OCSO and charged with sex offender-fail report Internet ID, web page or app name. Bond was set at $10,000.
• Thomas Campbell, 43, Northeast Fifth Street, was arrested on September 4, by OCSO Deputy A. Ziegler and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $5,000.
• Angel Hurtado, 46, Northwest Second Street, was arrested on September 4, by OCPD Officer Ted Van Deman and charged with armed trespass of a structure or conveyance. Bond was set at $5,000.
• Elmer Ponce, 26, Northwest 46th Avenue, was arrested on September 5, by OCSO Deputy A. Esquivel and charged with directly promote sexual performance by a child, use a computer to seduce/solicit/lure a child, contributing to delinquency or dependency of a child, and transmission of material harmful to a minor by electronic equipment. Bond was set at $200,000.
• Elmer Ponce, 26, Northwest 46th Avenue, was arrested on September 5, by OCSO Deputy A. Esquivel and charged with tampering with evidence. Bond was set at $5,000.
• Joslyn Macre, 30, West Palm Beach, was arrested on September 7, by OCPD Officer Makayla Petit-Homme and charged with possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $6,000.
