TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) is proud to unveil Episode One of People Worth Caring About: Florida, featuring the caregivers and residents of LaBelle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Episode One features puppies, puzzles, and the many pleasures of providing high-quality care at LaBelle Health and Rehabilitation Center, located in the rural, southwest Florida community of LaBelle.

“Episode One gives us an opportunity to recognize the people who make long term care so meaningful," said Emmett Reed, FHCA CEO. "The caregivers at LaBelle Health and Rehabilitation Center do more than meet residents’ daily needs. They get to know them, build trust with their families and form connections that bring comfort and dignity to everyday life. We're thrilled to release Episode One of this series, which shares those relationships and honors the dedicated people behind them.”

Episode One follows Adra, the quiet but passionate leader who empowers the entire team, Janette, the dietary aide that residents watch for at lunch, Elise, the activities assistant behind the art projects, and many more professionals who make this center a special place.

"I’m proud that People Worth Caring About: Florida has featured our center and the people who make this place special," said Adra Baldwin, administrator at LaBelle Health and Rehabilitation Center. "Many of our team members have cared for residents here for years. They’re caring for friends and neighbors, and the relationships they’ve built are at the heart of the care we provide. I hope this episode helps people see the dedication of our staff and the positive difference they make in our community every day.”

People Worth Caring About: Florida is the newest season of the award-winning national docuseries, hosted by former CNA and filmmaker Peter Murphy Lewis. Florida's season shines a spotlight on eight FHCA member nursing centers in LaBelle, Sunrise, Port St. Lucie, West Palm Beach, Coral Gables, Orlando, Bradenton, and Callaway, Florida. Episodes are being released now through January and will highlight extraordinary caregivers who reflect what's happening in care centers across Florida every day - compassion and unwavering dedication to residents and their families.
