OKEECHOBEE — Lemmie Chad Prescott was sentenced to seven months in county jail followed by three years probation after pleading no contest to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts battery and tampering with a victim. A fifth count, kidnapping, was dropped.
Prescott was arrested in May 2020 after a 911 call regarding a suspicious incident. When Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin White arrived, he spoke with the complainant, who told him she and a friend had arrived home earlier in the evening and Prescott immediately demanded one of them drive him to Kissimmee. When they tried to tell him they would drive him another time, he became angry and threatened to kill a third person, who was inside the home and was described as disabled. Prescott took a knife from the kitchen and chased the man around the yard attempting to cut his throat until one of the women agreed to drive him to Kissimmee. Prescott told the other woman if the cops came, he would come back and kill her. After he left, she called 911.
Prescott was arrested in Osceola County. He has already served the seven months while waiting for his case to go to court.
Prescott was arrested in November 2019 after reportedly going on a rampage in his mother’s home, wielding two axes and chopping up her furniture. In that instance, he was charged with aggravated battery without intent to kill. Those charges were later dropped.
In 2017, he was charged with two counts of assault, one count abuse of the elderly and two counts tampering with a witness, but the charges were dropped. In 2015, he was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. He was sentenced to state prison for one year. In 2012, he was charged with battery, but again, the charge was dropped.
