Reflections from the Pulpit: Christ is Risen Indeed

Posted

This Sunday, March 31, Christians will be saying, “hallelujah He is Risen!” and the excitement from Palm Sunday will meet a crescendo. But because many of us will only go to church on these Sundays, we will miss the quiet sadness of the Last Supper or the grief of the garden. Will miss that for the Savior to be risen, he must die a horrible death. I love Palm Sunday and Easter and all of the excitement that goes with it but I will be deeply moved by the events of Maundy Thursday, March 28, and Good Friday, March 29. I will think about the despair of his followers on Saturday and maybe just maybe my Easter celebration will be all the fuller.

Sunday morning the Okeechobee Ministerial Association is sponsoring a Sunrise Service in Scott Driver Park at 6:30 a.m. to begin our Easter Celebration. The Scott Driver Park is located at 10100 State Road 78 West, across from the entrance to Okee-Tanti

The public is invited and welcome to attend as we remember that Christ is Risen Indeed!

easter, palm sunday, good friday
