LABELLE -- On Friday, March 28 at approximately 11 p.m., Hendry County Deputies responded to a home in the Port LaBelle area and discovered 34-year-old Priscilla Danielle Hallihan unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
Hendry County Detectives arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile in her shooting death Saturday morning.
This is an active ongoing investigation and sensitive in nature.
“The death of Ms. Hallihan is a senseless murder,” said Hendry County Sheriff Steve Whidden. We are working around the clock to follow up on leads and information we are receiving. We would like to extend our sympathies, thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family and ask that their privacy be respected during this time.”
Antonio Mario Arenivar, 17, was taken into custody and charged with homicide, attempted homicide, shooting into an occupied dwelling, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony. The juvenile has been transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Facility.
In the morning hours of Monday, March 31, 2025, HCSO detectives continued following up on leads in the shooting when evidence led them to an additional person of interest.
Detectives responded to the home of the juvenile person of interest where they executed a search warrant. During the search of the subject’s room, they located a black gun box with the firearm’s serial number on it.
Detectives also conducted a K9 search of the surrounding properties where they found personal items belonging to the subject as well as a black handgun with a matching serial number to the gun case found in the youth’s bedroom.
A 17-year-old male was charged on unrelated charges of misdemeanor offense of possession of a firearm by juvenile. (His name has been withheld because he is charged with a misdemeanor.)
The juvenile was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice where he is currently being held.
This continues to be an active investigation, and detectives are continuing to look at additional persons of interest.
