Obituary for Thomas Howard Daughtrey, Sr.
Thomas Howard Daughtrey, Sr., born November 29, 1944, in Bakersfield, California, passed
away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted father,
grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by hard work, dedication, and deep
family ties.
Thomas was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of
Okeechobee, where his faith was an important part of his life.
He was the son of Jack R. Daughtrey (June 22, 1905 – May 22, 1972) and Willamina “Minnie”
Scouller Daughtrey (November 29, 1906 – June 4, 1997), who preceded him in death. He was
also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Ann Daughtrey, and his
siblings Marvin “Sonny,” Troy “Peanut,” Ray, Elwood “Bubber,” Jack “Jackie,” Elberta “Bertie,”
and Jeanette.
Thomas dedicated 50 years to Emory Walker Co., where he worked as an HVAC Technician
and Sales Coordinator. He took great pride in his work and the life it provided for his family.
Through long days and years of commitment, he built not just a career, but a legacy of hard
work, dependability, and quiet sacrifice—values he passed down to his children and
grandchildren. His work was more than a job to him; it was a way to care for those he loved
most.
Thomas is survived by his sons: Thomas Howard Daughtrey, Jr. (Disowned), Timothy Ray Daughtrey, Tony
Jack Daughtrey (and partner Joshua Cohea), and Todd Allen Daughtrey. He also leaves behind
his cherished grandsons: Kevin Owen Daughtrey, Thomas Howard Daughtrey III, Timothy Ray
Daughtrey II, Eric Anthony Daughtrey, Sean Mitchell Daughtrey, Christian Michael Daughtrey,
and Tucker Aaron Daughtrey, as well as numerous great-grandchildren who brought him
immense joy.
He is further survived by his sister Lois “Sister”, along with many
extended family members and loved ones.
Thomas will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family, his strength,
and the lasting legacy he leaves behind through generations.
