OKEECHOBEE — There were two officer-involved car accidents on Monday, Feb. 23.
The first took place at the intersection of U.S. 441 South and Charles Harvey Road. The intersection was temporarily rerouted while the scene was cleared.
As deputies were responding to that scene, a second accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 441 and State Road 70.
The deputy from the first crash was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Sheriff Stephen would like to thank all emergency services personnel and the citizens who assisted on scene or responded in any capacity. 'We are also grateful to our community for the continued prayers and support for everyone injured this evening," he added.
