Posted

Cedric Denorris Harris Jr. 21, of Belle Glade, was arrested June 6 and charged with first degree murder with a firearm.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Probable Cause Affidavit, on Monday, May 6, several PBSO road patrol deputies were on patrol when they heard gunshots. They looked to the east and observed muzzle flashes only short distance away.

As the deputies approached the shooting scene, they observed a gray, four-door Audi speeding from the area. A lawful traffic stop was conducted and observed the driver, Rashaad Teddy Tomlin, 20, driving. Cedric Denorris Harris, 21, was the lone occupant of the rear seat. In plain view, deputies observed a rifle resting on the rear seats. Also in plain view was ammunition.

About 350 feet from where the Audi was stopped, deputies discovered the lifeless body of a man with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The deceased was identified as Delphone Lucas, 36.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured the Audi stopped in the area of the shooting and driving away within seconds after the shooting.

Witnesses reported seeing three males – identified as Ced, Turtle and Will walking towards the victim before the shooting and hearing five to six gunshots.

After further investigation, Harris was charged with murder.
