PAHOKEE — Men in the Glades Region are encouraged to take charge of their health by attending a free Male Empowerment and Community Health Fair on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will be held at Pahokee Elementary School located at 560 East Main Place, and will offer a variety of free screenings, health information, services and resources. “This fair is a great opportunity for men to get checked out for common health concerns,” said Christine Boldin, event organizer and Founder & CEO of Boldin Community Impact, Inc. “Many men don’t prioritize their health, but early detection is key to preventing serious health problems.”

The Men’s Health Fair will offer free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. In addition to screenings, the fair will also feature table presentations on a variety topic important to men, information on health issues will be presented from a panel of experts, and information about how to access local services including legal, social and healthcare will be shared. “We want to make sure that men in our community have the information and resources they need to thrive,” said Syrenthia Boldin. “The Men’s Empowerment and Health Fair is a great way to learn about your health and take steps to empower yourself by learning about community resources that could empower you.”

The Men’s Empowerment and Health Fair is free and open to the public. No registration is required. For more information, please contact Christine Boldin at (561) 281-5532 or boldincommunityimpact@gmail.com.
