BELLE GLADE — Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Mu Rho Omega Chapter has a strong history of supporting seniors in the community. Through their Uplifting our Local Communities Initiative the Mu Rho Omega Chapter showed their appreciation and support for local seniors.
The chapter decided to “uplift” seniors in the community by delivering 160 “Hearts of Love” gift bags, cards and treats at Glades Pioneer and Diamond Terrace in Belle Glade on Valentine’s Day. The smiles on the face of the residents proved the event was a success. Not only did the residents enjoy their bags, they also danced, sang via karaoke, talked and invited Mu Rho Omega back again. Everyone present had a great time.
The Mu Rho Omega Chapter would like to thank the Uplift Our Local Communities Initiative Chairman, Sheila Mckenzie and Co-Chairman Cheryl Smythe for their continued efforts. They also wish to thank the Glades Pioneer and Diamond Terrace residents and staff.
