CLEWISTON-  Clewiston High School celebrated another year of victories and success on the field with their annual athletic awards ceremony on May 23.

Jerrmyll Ray and Imani Greaves were named the 2024 CHS Athletes of the Year.

The Tigers had student-athletes from multiple sports represent Clewiston at the state tournament this school year. Most recently,  the Tiger Track and Field team visted Jacksonville to compete at the  state championship on May 17.

Levi Campbell, Keon Trimble, Jerrmyll Ray, Henry Mason, and Xavier Charles made the trip to Jacksonville to compete in the state championship. Campbell, Ray, Trimble, Mason, and Charles came in ninth in the 4x100 relay. While Ray finished in 13th in the 200 meter.

Wrestling Gumaro Martinez III advanced to the state tournament this year. Before that, the entire team qualified for the regional tournament. Gumaro went undefeated at the Eric Paul Duals back in January, winning five straight matches.  He earned runners-up at the Ray Worsham Invitational this season and fourth place at the Santaluces Christmas Tournament.

Clewiston golfers Tucker Sergent and Olivia Branaman qualified for regionals this year thanks to an impressive performance in the district 2A 13 tournament on Oct. 24.

Sergent finished 10th with a score of 97, while overall the Clewiston boys finished fourth as a team with a score 421. Tucker was one of three golfers that qualified for regionals at the event, including Zachery Sutton of LaBelle and Brock Schmidt of Gateway. Branaman qualified for regionals as the third overall qualifier in the district tournament with a score of 128, behind Jada Kohlmeier of Mariner and Isabella Lauzon of Cape Coral.
