Clewiston FFA members recognized at Florida FFA State Convention

CLEWISTON — Clewiston Future Farmers of America (FFA) had an incredible week  at the 98th Florida FFA State Convention during the week of June 15.

Tuesday: Clewiston’s FFA members attended leadership workshops, including two sessions facilitated by Carlos Rivera and Emily Sanchez. They ended the day at the Opening Session and kicked off an exciting week.

Wednesday: Trenton Felton was named the winner of the Agriscience Research Proficiency Award.

Thursday: A day full of recognition and celebration! Trenton Felton recognized his advisors on stage and delivered his final remarks as the Area 6 State Vice President. Congratulations to Briza Forteza, Alexis Henry, Emersyn Quinn, and Carlos Rivera on earning their Florida FFA State Degree. Trenton was also recognized for earning his American FFA Degree, which he will officially receive at National Convention.
The following Clewiston FFA members were recognized as Top 5 in the state included:

• Meats Evaluation – Third Place Team: Taznoor Chowdhury, Aiden Dominguez, Briza Forteza, Enrique Puentes;
• Ornamental Horticulture – Artistic Arrangement – First Place Team: Arianna Henry, Zayden Greenlee;
• Ornamental Horticulture – Landscaping – Fifth Place Team: Rosie Garcia, Emersyn Quinn;
• Ornamental Horticulture – Production – Third Place Place Team: Janelle Castro, Taznoor Chowdhury.

Carlos Rivera concluded his year as District XI Secretary and Emily Sanchez as she was elected District XI President. Trenton was recognized as a National Winner in the Agriscience Fair – Plant Systems Division 5, and the evening ended with a surprise celebration in his honor.

Friday: Trenton Felton passed the Area 6 State Vice President torch to Brady Williamson, marking the end of an incredible year of service.

Clewiston is proud of all members who continue to represent Clewiston FFA with excellence, leadership, and integrity. The accomplishments celebrated this week reflect countless hours of hard work and dedication from our members, advisors, parents, and supporters. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this year one to remember!
