FSW signs partnership agreement with WGU

Posted

FORT MYERS — Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) and Western Governors University (WGU) have entered into an academic collaboration agreement to provide FSW graduates and employees the opportunity to seek affordable bachelor’s and master’s degrees with WGU. The agreement formalizes the transfer of applicable academic credits between the two schools.

FSW is pleased to partner with WGU and offer graduates and staff the opportunity to continue their education and earn advanced degrees. As part of the agreement, graduates and staff of FSW will be eligible to apply for scholarships offered through the WGU Community College Partnership Scholarship. Scholarships are valued at up to $2,500, with $625 credited each term and renewable for up to four terms based on satisfactory academic performance. Tuition at WGU is around $4,000 per six-month term, and students can accelerate at their preferred pace with the consent of their assigned program mentor.

WGU offers more than 80 online degree programs for students to explore. These degree programs lead students to diverse jobs with top organizations, from schools to hospitals to businesses. As of April 2024, WGU has more than 10,000 students and more than 18,000 alumni in Florida.
