Hendry County Road Watch for week beginning Jan. 4

HENDRY COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Hendry County for the week beginning Sunday, Jan. 4, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

• S.R. 25 (U.S. 27) from Stitt Ranch to west of Flaghole Road: Construction project: Crews will begin milling and resurfacing work on S.R. 25 (U.S. 27) from Stitt Ranch to west of Flaghole Road in Hendry County. The project includes guardrail improvements, drainage enhancements, updated signage, and new pavement markings.

  • Drivers should use caution in the area and watch for workers and equipment in the construction zone. Shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures may occur during construction.
  • Motorists should expect possible traffic shifts and delays. Access to local driveways and businesses will be maintained at all times.
    No construction activities are scheduled from Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, through Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
  • Estimated completion is the spring of 2026.
