CLEWISTON – A 53-year-old Naples man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on State Road 80 on Aug. 22, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the FHP report, the accident occurred at 3:12 p.m. on Aug. 22.
The FHP report states a sedan was traveling north on Hendry Isles Boulevard, approaching a stop sign at the intersection of State Road 80. A van was traveling east on State Road 80. The sedan failed to yield for the van, according to the FHP report. The front portion of the van collided with the side of the sedan. The sedan rotated and came to rest on the south shoulder of State Road 80. The van came to rest on the median.
A passenger in the sedan, a 53-year-old Naples man, died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the sedan, a 62-year-old Clewiston man, was seriously injured.
The van driver, a 68-year-old Clewiston man, was also injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
