GLADES COUNTY -- Part of U.S. 27 in Glades County was closed to northbound traffic due to a molasses spill Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the afternoon. Two semi-trailer trucks collided on U.S. 27 just north of West Yaun Road. During the course of the crash, one semi, transporting several thousands of pounds of molasses, overturned. Subsequently a large quantity of the molasses and fuel from the semi spilled onto the roadway. The road was closed for the cleanup and traffic diverted to State Road 80. There were no injuries involved in the incident, but it did create a sticky mess.

Crash creates sticky mess.
