CLEWISTON — A 4-year-old Clewiston boy and a 26-year-old Davie man were killed when a truck collided with a motorcycle on US 27 on April 19.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the accident occurred at 9:26 p.m. on old U.S. Highway 27 at Flaghole Road.

The FHP report states a pickup truck, was traveling in the left turn lane of northbound U.S. 27 approaching the intersection of Flaghole Road.

A motorcycle was traveling in the inside southbound lane of U.S. 27 as it approached the same intersection. The pickup truck failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle and turned left into the direct path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the truck, which overturned and slid southwest.

The motorcyclist was separated from the motorcycle and was partially pinned underneath the pickup truck. The pickup truck came to final rest on the southwest corner of the intersection, facing southwest, while overturned on its roof.

The motorcycle came to final rest facing east in the outside southbound lane of U.S. 27.

The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Davie man, was pronounced deceased on scene by Hendry County E.M.S.

A 58-year-old Clewiston woman, who was a passenger in the pickup truck, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

A 4-year-old Clewiston boy, also a passenger in the pickup, was pronounced deceased on scene by Hendry County E.M.S.

The pickup truck driver, a 66-year-old Cape Coral man, received minor injuries, the FHP report states.
