WSE students complete STEM challenge

Posted

CLEWISTON — On Thursday, Aug. 28, students in Ms. Thorpe’s class at Westside Elementary School completed an exciting STEM challenge. These fifth grade scientists’ mission was to collaborate with a limited amount of supplies to complete the engineering “Spaghetti Tower Marshmallow” challenge in just 18 minutes. This hands-on activity had these students practicing teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance all while learning that science and engineering are about testing ideas, making adjustments, and celebrating every attempt.
