Thomas, Jr. Pictured from left to right are Jodi Cronin, Assistant Principal; Angie Torres, Principal; Danny Gonzalez, ICOC President and Katie Sandlin, Assistant Principal.[/caption] The Immokalee Chamber of Commerce President-Danny Gonzalez has accepted another school assignment this school year. He accepted to “Be The Principal of the Day” at Village Oaks Elementary School (VOE). The school is located at 1601 S,R. 29 in Immokalee. The Principal of VOE is Ms. Angie Veronica Torres and the school has students from PK-6 grade. The school’s Mascot is a Mighty Panther. If you are traveling on S. R. 29 near VOE school, you will see the overhead school crossing bridge starting from Farm Worker Village (FWV) going over to VOE, it was named the Panther Crossing. It helps all the students and parents who live and walk to school from FWV to Village Oaks walk safely to school. Danny loves giving back to his community in any way possible but especially to the kids of Immokalee. Danny admitted that being Principal for the day was very rewarding, challenging, a little soul searching and very exciting position. Ms. Torres told Danny that’s why she loves her job at VOE. Last school year Danny was the “Principal for the Day” at Pinecrest Elementary School. He admires the teaching profession greatly.
