Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is currently offering name your price adoptions, the event began on September 1 an will run the entire month of September. The shelter is full and there are many homeless pets seeking their forever homes. “The shelter has been at or near capacity the whole summer. Space is a hot commodity right now,” said DAS Director Darcy Andrade. “We are very hopeful that adopters will jump on the chance to take home pets at a great price – no price is too low or too high,” added Andrade. Those that are unable to adopt a pet are encouraged to volunteer for DAS or donate to the DAS Donation Trust Fund. The Donation Trust Fund provides medical care for sick and injured homeless animals. Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, heartworm test for dogs, FELV/FIV test for cats, rabies vaccination and 30 days of free pet insurance. That’s a value of more than $400. For more information on DAS, visit www.collierpets.com, stop by the shelter at 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida 34104, or call (239) 252-PETS (7387). Visit the Immokalee shelter at 405 Sgt. Joe Jones Road, Immokalee, Florida 34142, or call at (239) 252-7065.
