Special to the Immokalee Bulletin
Movement is life. Unfortunately, most of us don’t move as much as we used to. Computers, TV, the internet - all keep us on our posteriors way too much. STUDIOi, owned by Tina De La Rosa, is located at 208 Boston Ave. Immokalee, and offers a solution to the problem. She’s making it easier for folks of all ages to kick the sedentary habit Tina’s heart is in Immokalee and she has spent most of her life working for her community in one way or another. She graduated from Immokalee High School in1997 and was Homecoming Queen! She is a former AmeriCorps member, spent a short term as a reporter for the Immokalee Bulletin, is a member of Kiwanis Immokalee. She has branched out with her insurance company as owner of Tina De La Rosa Insurance, Inc. in LaBelle since 2007. In addition, she and her husband, Mario Ramirez, have three children: (Mario, Jr., Mark A Ramirez and Matthew Ramirez. She is also a member of the LaBelle Chamber of Commerce. STUDIOi offers fun ways to move for everyone from kids to adults. During the week STUDIOi has Kickboxing and Hip Hop Cardio for adults. Tina will soon be adding MMA or jujitsu for adults as well, probably in January. Instructor Jason Gabauer puts it this way, “We believe in preparing our young members for the world in which they will grow up. Being a blackbelt is more than self defense but it’s about how we carry ourselves in society as a whole including respect within the household.” Tina has teamed up with Cheerone Athletics to provide tumbling classes on Monday nights, and will be adding cheer teams for half year starting this month. Beginners 6-7, Intermediate/Advanced 7-8 .

Instructor Kelly Terebieniec said, “Cheerone Athletics believes that every athlete is important and that cheerleading and tumbling helps a child grow not only in skill, confidence, teamwork, but lifelong skills they will use their entire life. We believe that everyone can be a champion and that cheerleading is a sport that you will fall in love with.” And STUDIOi has even more to offer. On the weekend the space is used as a rental facility for family, social and cultural events. STUDIOi is the perfect choice to make your next event a success. According to Tina, “We offer a variety of services to help you transform your dream into reality. Our facility can accommodate most events, so consider STUDIOi for your next occasion! Call us to discuss our end of year specials: 239-658-4552.” “STUDIOi provides rental capabilities for weddings, birthday celebrations, social events, and more. It also serves as a Fitness/Dance Studio which currently hosts Martial Arts and Tumbling evening classes. Other than Pop Warner Athletics, T-ball and soccer, there really isn’t a variety of sport-like activities for our youth to participate in, much less the adults. My goal is to keep our Immokalee kids engaged in something physically and mentally that they will love; steering them away from video games and keeping them off the streets. I’m extremely excited to see how the students in our program will be advancing to different belts. We have our first testing December 17, they will be going from white to orange belts. Cheerone will also be making advancements with our tumbling girls, Kelly is currently coordinating the program to train the girls for upcoming competitions. Each program started off a little slowly and we’ve had a few hiccups along the way, but we’re making progress and I am happy with the progress we’ve made.” Call 239-658-4552. For Tina, it’s about giving back. “When speaking to a good friend of mine, Bernardo Barnhart, about leasing the facility on Boston Ave, we were both in agreement that we wanted to provide an environment safe and inviting for the community that has done so much in shaping who we both are today.”
