A much anticipated improvement to Lake Trafford Road is finally becoming a reality. In October of last year, Collier County Commissioners awarded Bonness, Inc. with a $1,385,000 contract to improve the flow of traffic at the intersection of Lake Trafford Road and North 19th Street. Coming in as the lowest bidder, Bonness, Inc. quickly got to work by developing a plan that would keep traffic flowing along Lake Trafford Road. The new design allows for dedicated left lanes in combination with thru and right turn lanes in each direction on North 19th Street. Five-foot wide concrete sidewalks will be constructed on both sides of Lake Trafford Road. Within the last two weeks, Bonness, Inc. began installing overhead traffic signals and it’s anticipated that the light will be operational within the next few weeks. It’s recommended that drivers use caution as they approach the new signal as this will be the first new traffic light on Lake Trafford Road between Carson Road and North 15th Street.
