Celebrating its 40th year in caring for migrant and other poor collier county residents, The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, (Collier Health Services, Inc.), a non-profit organization, offered a free Community Health Fair to Immokalee residents. The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing quality healthcare to those who cannot afford it otherwise. The Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida started out in two trailers and has expanded to 21 different locations throughout Collier County, including the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® Program. On a day that meteorologists said that the humidity would make the temperature feel like it were ten degrees hotter, the Health Fair was located outside of the Marion E. Fether Medical Center. The parking lot was filled with over a dozen local health venders, promoting community health awareness. The Health Fair also offered free games with prizes, and snacks, which included a giant 40th birthday cake. Sarah Hawes, the Community Relations Director, expected to have about 200 people, but there seemed to be many more. Despite the scorching sun, people working at the Health Fair were cheerful, showing their dedication to help the community.
