Above and Beyond was the theme and the 64 Betas who competed certainly lived up to the theme. We had top 10 places in banner-meeting of the minds and Nallely Sanchez in Spanish division 2 (actual place will not be posted until the end of week). Trophies were received in Scrapbook-- 5th-- Character skit --4th Chrissy Perez’s campaign skit took first place in secretarial race and we were overall grand champions in campaign skit.!!!! Out of all the BETA clubs across the nation the Immokalee BETA received 4th place for their service to their school and community-- this was a first for us- Dulce Espitia, our top service student, and Linda Ayer, sponsor, accepted the award. Isaac Alonso, a 2017 graduate, was recognized at the convention for being a semifinalist for the John W. Harris Leadership award. Chrissy Perez the Florida State BETA Secretary will be attending the National BETA Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. later this month. The club would like to thank all of the staff and parents who attended with them. We would not be able to accomplish what we have without the support of Dr. Patton, Superintendent, the school board , the Immokalee High School administration and staff, students and, above all, the generous people in our community who went above and beyond to make sure we had the opportunity to compete! Deserving special recognition is Cleveland and Carolyn Blocker for not only making a generous donation, but also for saving the club money by loaning their pickup truck and large trailer to get all the equipment and supplies to Orlando. MANY THANKS-- WE ARE IMMOKALEE BETA!
