Immokalee Bands outperform themselves at recent concert

Over 200 Immokalee High School and Middle School gave a wonderful performance in the Immokalee High School gymnasium to complete a year of great musical success. It is a great benefit to students that Collier County Public continues to place such importance on the fine arts, and hires personnel that contribute to the success of these vital programs for the full development of young people advancing on to life after school…it is interesting to note that a number of former band students have returned to lead musical programs in Collier County. The Immokalee High School band, under the direction of Mr. Brandon Milhoan, and the Immokalee Middle School bands, under the direction of Mr. Philip Barton wowed the packed house of parents, family members and school staff as they performed many numbers.

The middle school bands included beginning, advanced and symphonic bands, and the high school concert band also performed. Of note is the fact that, for the first time in 15 years, Immokalee Middle School band received the highest rating-SUPERIOR-in their recent spring performance. The music programs continue to
