Man charged in connection with May 5 Immokalee Homicide

Collier County Sheriff’s Office detectives have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with a May 5 homicide in Immokalee. Stephen Perez Jr., of Immokalee, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon in the commission of murder, and distribution of marijuana in connection with the death of Juan Herrera, 19, of Immokalee. Perez was located Thursday in Lee County by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He was taken into custody initially on a Collier County violation of probation warrant. The other charges were added subsequent to his arrest. He remains incarcerated in the Lee County Jail.
