Hundreds of children turned out for the 2017 Pioneer Pumpkin Palooza on Saturday. The event was held at Roberts Ranch and featured free food, hay maze, face painting, pumpkin painting, scavenger hunt, and a hay ride. Participants were also able to try their hand at roping cattle… hay cattle that is. Firefighters with Immokalee Fire Control District brought out a fire engine from Immokalee and one from North Collier Fire & Rescue District where children had opportunity to climb on board, sit in the driver’s seat, activate the emergency lights, and see what it’s like to hang out in the trucks. “It was great seeing so many people attend especially after Hurricane Irma just came through” said Curtis Summeralls with Immokalee Fire Control District.
