I cannot express how much, and how proud I am of our senior boys. They went out this weekend past and played two FANTASTIC games. It started with Buckingham and Sarasota playing the first game at 10:00 am. Sarasota lost so therefore Immokalee played Sarasota next at 1:00 pm in the heat. Sarasota played a good game but fell short to Immokalee 10-2. Our boys played a wonderful game. After a 30 minute rest it was our turn again to play Buckingham which was the winner of the 1st game. The game began at 4:00 pm, in the 1st inning it was tied 1-1 and then we had a 45 minute lightening and rain delay. Then the game began it was a nail biting and very intense game with the outcome Immokalee falling short of the win 5-4. Everyone that was there, parents, fans that traveled and came out and cheered for our boys were very proud. Even the parents and players from the Buckingham team all said “that was the best game they had ever played in, even during their regular season.” Our boys have no reason for lowering their heads in shame or to be sad because they did not win. To me, and I am pretty sure to everyone that went to see the game, our boys are CHAMPIONS AND THEY CAME HOME CHAMPIONS. By all means, Immokalee had that game won because we played better and the boys played as a team, but luck of the draw, the last inning did not go our way. We would like to thank the Community of Immokalee for their support, Thanks again, and FOR SURE, IMMOKALEE!!!!! WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR, NUFF SAID!
