The boys fell just a little short of the National Title, losing in the Championship game in double overtime. After having a great tournament in the Region III Championships the team didn’t play their best soccer in the first game, losing to Champion Rampage from Utah. We managed to put two good games against Ohio and New Jersey, giving us another opportunity at Utah. The championship game ended 1-1 after regulation time but Utah scored early in the first overtime period for a 2-1 lead. Another goal late in the second overtime sealed a 3-1 victory. Several of our players were selected to the All-Tournament Team: Carlos Contreras, Carlos Trigueros, Ulises Soto, and Jonas Jean Charles An entire year of soccer without a break has provided many exciting experiences for the boys and the coaching staff. It all started last July with league play, then on to high school and back to club. We began our journey focused on winning Region C, then we went on an incredible streak winning Florida’s Presidents Cup, and Region III. We are proud of our players and what they have accomplished. They have set a very high bar for next year’s campaign which starts in just a few weeks. We have many people to thank for their generous donations that helped us get to Texas and Tulsa. Without them our trips would have been impossible. Thank you to the 1 by 1 Foundation, Health Care SWFL, Lipman, Immokalee Chamber of Commerce, The Rotary Club, Immokalee, FCB, Immokalee High School, The Cal Ripken Sr Foundation, Naples YMCA, Bonita Azzuri Soccer Club, GulfCoast Men’s Soccer League, Northside Kiwanis, On The Spot Printing, and NCEF for helping us with many contacts. Also, the generosity of many individuals does not go unnoticed. Thank you all!
