The Barron Park House Gallery is filled with vibrant and creative art from our community’s youngest artists this month. Drawings, paintings, sculptures and other more unique pieces have been brought by local youth and will be on display for the month of May. Award winning art made by LaBelle’s students can be found all over the walls of the 105-year-old Christie House, as well as some submissions from local homeschool kids, and the Girl Scouts, too.
From the cutest donut ceramics to a wild and wacky, life-sized rendering of the anatomy of the human body, there is much to be seen. The Barron Park House Gallery is located at 471 N. Lee Street and has no admission fee. Hours of operation are Thursdays through Sundays from noon until 5:00 p.m.
Next month’s exhibition will feature the spectacular and unbelievably realistic colored pencil portraits by local artist Martha Cantu.
Martha Cantu’s exhibit will also feature one of her artistic children, 10-year-old Isaac Cantu, who specializes in polymer clay sculptures
Come see the work of local Immokalee artist, Martha Cantu. Self-taught from a young age her media includes but not limited to colored pencil, oil paint, acrylic, graphite, etc. Martha’s artwork includes a diverse network of portraits. Her portraits are of people whom she interacts with; family members, acquaintances, and photographers of indigenous people from different cultures. She has always been attracted to people’s eyes and imperfection. Although she prefers to work on personal pieces she has recently welcomed commission portraits of both people and fur babies.
