Collier County Public Schools would like to congratulate Immokalee Middle School (IMS) on being selected to have a WeatherSTEM unit installed on campus. WeatherSTEM is an educational product that combines learning technology with meteorology. The weather station collects live weather information with a variety of tools including a cloud camera that takes pictures of the sky.

All of the information is tied together and put into a database. Teachers and students can then use the information in the classroom to predict the weather. “It is amazing to have our own weather station here at IMS. Soon we will be able to learn math and science content through our own weather station along with the entire Immokalee community,” explains Regina Bale, Science Resource Teacher at IMS. In addition to being a great asset to the school’s curriculum, it is also a beneficial tool for outdoor sport coaches to use to monitor weather conditions. WeatherSTEM covers the cost of installation and provides support to make sure the equipment is maintained. We are looking forward to seeing the students use this new tool!
