Detectives with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office are asking for your help in locating a man who allegedly followed a teenager as she walked by herself in Immokalee on Monday morning. The 13-year-old girl told deputies that she was walking in the area of Carver Street and Booker Boulevard around 7:30 a.m. when a man riding a bicycle on the opposite sidewalk began talking to her. The man complimented her hair and asked if she lived in the area. The girl continued walking in the opposite direction. The man started following her on his bike, asking again where she lived. The girl ran to a nearby residence as the man rode away on his bicycle. The suspicious man is described as black, approximately 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, brown hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a bright red shirt and black pants. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300, or if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
