Updates for Immokalee Relay for Life
Posted
Event date: Friday evening April 8, 2016, through Saturday morning April 9, 2016, Immokalee Sports Complex.
At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year! With your help, we aren’t just fighting one type of cancer, we’re fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. Each person who shares the Relay For Life experience can take pride in knowing that they are working to create a world where this disease will no longer threaten our loved ones or rob any one of another birthday. Funds raised go to the American Cancer Society programs such as Cancer Research; assistance with lodging costs for those traveling to receive treatment; providing rides to treatment through the Road to Recovery program; assistance with self image cosmetics, wigs, and clothing, through the Look Good Feel Better program; and pairing a breast cancer survivor with those diagnosed with breast cancer to offer understanding, support, and hope through the Reach to Recovery program.
