Trump suggests he'll extend deadline for TikTok's Chinese owner to sell app
President Donald Trump has suggested that he would likely extend a deadline for TikTok’s Chinese owner to divest the popular video sharing app. Trump had signed an order in early April to keep TikTok running for another 75 days after a potential deal to sell the app to American owners was put on ice. When asked by reporters on Air Force One on Tuesday whether the deadline would be extended again, he responded by saying: “Probably yeah, yeah." He said China would probably need to approve it too but Trump thought the country's president would ultimately give approval.
An 80-year-old drives a luxury Mercedes sedan down Rome's Spanish Steps and gets stuck
ROME (AP) — Police in Rome say an 80-year-old man drove a compact luxury Mercedes A Class sedan part way down the city's landmark Spanish Steps before getting stuck. Municipal police said in a statement that the driver tested negative for alcohol, and was cited on the spot for driving down the monument in Rome's historic center. The car was later removed by firefighters using a crane. The driver was not identified and it was not celar if the car was his. One of Rome’s most recognizable monuments, the Spanish Steps have never been intended for motor vehicles, although some thrill seekers tried their luck.
In Oklahoma, Juneteenth highlights tribal slavery descendants' fight for recognition and citizenship
While many across the country recognize Juneteenth as the end to the institution of slavery in America in 1865, some tribal nations in Oklahoma continued to own slaves until the following year, 1866. Today, many of the descendants of those formerly enslaved people are still fighting for full citizenship within those tribal nations. For them, Juneteenth is both a celebration of freedom for people of African descent and a reminder of their struggle to be fully embraced by Indigenous people with whom they share an ancestral heritage.

The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement Friday that more “law enforcement partners” have been brought in to find the detainees who escaped from Delaney Hall. In a statement Friday, American Friends Service Committee said people inside the facility reported getting small portions of food, with breakfast at 6 a.m., dinner at 10 p.m. and no lunch.
