OKEECHOBEE — The Beta Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recently welcomed an award-winning jewelry maker as the featured guest at their monthly meeting. Laura Kay Whiticar, a retired math teacher, has traveled to London to display her work as a participant in an International competition.
Members were treated to an engaging presentation showcasing the artistry, craftsmanship, and inspiration behind the creator’s unique designs.
The speaker shared her journey as a jewelry maker, including the recognition she has received for her innovative work. Attendees enjoyed learning about the creative process, from selecting materials to bringing each design to life. Several members also had the opportunity to view and purchase pieces following the presentation.
The program highlighted the chapter’s ongoing commitment to offering diverse and enriching experiences for members, blending creativity, education, and community engagement.
